Details:

  • Light, latex-free, transparent matte film bandage

  • Eliminates scabbing and reduces risk of scarring

  • Maximum breathability and flexibility for flawless healing

  • Waterproof and permeable to allow perspiration

Directions for Use:
Gently clean and pat dry the tattoo and surrounding area, ensuring there is no soap or any residue on the skin. With clean gloves, remove Derm Shield from the sterile pouch. Cut the Derm Shield to cover tattooed area plus a 1 to 2 inch margin from the edge of the tattoo. Peel off backing to expose adhesive side and position the Derm Shield over the tattoo with the adhesive side facing the skin. Gently apply using light pressure, starting from the center to the edges to eliminate air bubbles. Do not stretch the Derm Shield during application.

The Derm Shield application should stay in place for 24 - 72 hrs depending on level of exudation. It is normal for blood and fluids to collect under the bandage.

A second application (if necessary) can be used for several days, but do not wear any piece longer than one week.

Directions for Removal:
Gently peel the Derm Shield by pulling it slowly from the edge back over itself. Do not pull the bandage upwards.

After Removing Derm Shield:

It is recommended to wash your tattoo 2 - 3 times a day based on how active you may be. Preferably with antibacterial soap, here are some reputable brands we recommend:

  • Dial

  • SoftSoap

  • Dove

When washing your tattoo please refrain from using rough textured materials, instead it’s best to use your hand to gently wash your tattoo. A good schedule would be before and after work and after any excessive working out or extra activities.

After each washing of your tattoo, you should apply a light layer of non-scented lotion (or tattoo approved moisturizer). Here are some reputable brands we recommend:

  • Hustle Butter Tattoo Rejuvenated Cream

  • Mad Rabbit Tattoo Aftercare Balm

  • Aquaphor Lotion (not the vaseline base)

  • Lubriderm Unscented Lotion

It is recommended to apply these steps for 1 - 1.5 weeks after the removal of your Derm Shield Bandage. After that period, wash and moisturize as you would normally as your tattoo should be in the ending stages of the initial healing process.

Try to avoid doing the following during your tattoo recovery:

  • Avoid Tight clothes

  • Avoid Swimming or submerging your tattoo under bodies of water

  • Avoid Picking or Scratching your tattoo

  • Avoid Fragrances and Make up over/on your tattooed area

  • Avoid Heavy Exercising during the Derm Shield stage

  • Avoid Excessive/Direct Sun exposure
